Life Altering Breast Augmentation Procedure! A Case Study!admin
We live in a modern society where we have the right to choose what we want with our bodies to make ourselves mentally and physically satisfied – the demand for breast augmentation surgery is increasing every day. It is as normal as any other body treatment options available today!
Many of my patients who get breast augmentation always feel contented and satisfied to get rid of that residual uneasiness.
This case study is about Vedika Singh. She’s a 38-year-old mother. She led a healthy lifestyle, but she was concerned about changes in the volume and form of her breasts after breastfeeding. She met with Dr Priya Bansal to discuss her queries. During her consultation, she heard about the breast augmentation procedure that helped transform her preoperative breasts into the ideal ones.
Her personal experience from starting to end in this case study will help you understand what to anticipate from the surgery.
“Desiring this Since Post Pregnancy….”
During my pregnancy period, I was very excited and nervous, too as pregnancy comes with drastic life changes. Since it was my first time, I didn’t know that I’ll go through drastic body changes due to pregnancy. The small size of my breasts was one of the most bothering changes in my body.
I kept reading a few articles on exercises and workouts to attain my pre-pregnancy breast shape back. Nevertheless, I couldn’t attain it. Therefore, I decided to look out for a cosmetic surgeon.
Choosing Dr Priya was the Right Decision!
I heard about Dr Priya Bansal through one of my friends who is a part of Dr Bansal’s Facebook community. I live in a conservative family. Therefore, contemplating getting surgery was a serious decision. I decided to be a part of her community page. Her zeal and dedication to spreading body positivity in our society made me realize – I have the right to do everything with my body that will make me happy!
Questions During Consultation
Before visiting Dr Bansal, I prepared a list of a few questions to ask her during my consultation session.
#Question 1 – What can I do to increase the size and volume of my breasts?
She introduced me to one of the advanced plastic and cosmetic surgeries – The breast augmentation procedure. She performs this procedure using two major approaches:
First – Fat Grafting Approach
Second – Breast Implant Approach
She informed me about the pros and cons of both procedures. Since I wanted to have subtle changes in my breast size, I found fat grafting as the ideal option. I was much more comfortable with that only as I was not ready for implants in my breasts despite being one of the safest techniques. Dr Bansal explained that the fat grafting technique uses one’s own body fat and hence poses no side effects. She also told me how fat grafting can give my breasts the desired shape and size to my breasts.
I eagerly agreed for it and waited for the surgery day.
Question 2# How to prepare for the surgery beforehand? Are there any restrictions or rules to follow?
Preparation for the surgery is very crucial. Whether it is about selecting a surgeon for your surgery, checking their previous success rate or choosing the right approach to increase the size of your breasts.
Dr Bansal prepared a checklist for me during my consultation as the surgery was supposed to be done post one week after that day.
I was asked to do the following:
- Avoid green tea and supplements that contain salicylates as it makes the blood thinner leading to disrupting the surgery
- Avoid the use of substances abuse like drugs and alcohol
- Avoid smoking as it delays wound healing.
Before the surgery, she marked the incisions and areas of fat transfer in my breasts. I had excess fat in my thighs. So Dr Bansal decided to transfer the excess fat from my thigh region to my breasts using the Liposuction technique. The procedure was done under general anaesthesia.
Question #3 – What is the actual cost of breast augmentation surgery? Is it costly?
Dr Priya informed me – there’s no one size fit solution for the surgery cost. It is influenced by multiple factors like the area from where the fat will be harvested, the amount of fat which needs to be extracted and transferred and the requirement of additional procedures. If the procedure is performed using the breast implant approach, the cost of implants may influence your entire cost.
“Personal Advice” – It is good to consider cost as a secondary concern and your surgeon’s expertise as the primary concern to avoid the redo of the surgery.
Question #4 – What can I do to recover quickly?
Just like my preparation list, I was given a set of points to follow during my recovery period to avoid all the complications for fast healing.
- Normal walks and avoid running
- Avoid doing heavy exercises
- Wear a compression garment to avoid the risks
I faced normal swelling during my first 3 to 4 weeks post-surgery. It took me around 2.5 months to achieve my desired results. Overall, the surgery was safe and very comfortable. I didn’t face any complications during or post the surgery.
Everything was smooth from consultation till the recovery period of my breast augmentation procedure. The entire team of Dr Priya Bansal was very friendly and supportive. I never regretted my decision to choose the surgery and Dr Priya Bansal!
